LAB TECH

We are seeking  enthusiastic and hardworking craft beer lovers to run our quality control program. The primary focus of this position is to manage the lab and ensure the products leaving the plant are test and clear of contaminants.  The candidate will be involved in  the plant’s production process as part of the production team and ensure quality targets are met.   The ideal candidate has excellent technical lab skills, is organized and proficient in communicating problems and solutions to problems. The position is extremely task driven and needs an individual who is very organized, detailed oriented and able to multi-task.  This role will touch all areas of the brewhouse; production, cellaring, inventory, packaging etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

 

About the Opportunity 
The role will include Lab, Cellar and Packaging Work.  20-30% of time will be involved in lab. 70-80% of work will be assisting in the cellar and packaging areas.  Workload will shift to more lab time as output increases.  The correct candidate is smart and motivated to pick up and help where needed.  Must be flexible and passionate about Craft Beer.  This is an opportunity to get involved in all aspects of commercial brewing.  Pay commensurate with experience.  This could also be a part time work in only the lab for the correct candidate looking for a side project.

Typical duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lab

* Sample prep and PCR testing of said samples
* Instrument operation and maintenance of PCR and related equipment

* Proficient of clean lab techniques to prevent cross contamination

* Proficient in use of hoods, autoclaves and incubators
* Preparing media and plate cultures and documenting test results

* Defining and deploying a sampling and sensory quality assurance program

* Recording and documenting results from the QA testing process to provide Go No Go recommendations on each batch

* Testing each batch for related beer spoilers.

Full time candidates would also work on the following while part time candidates would responsible for the above only.

Packing

* Assist with canning operations and sample packing

* Kegging and Keg washing

 

Cellar

 * Assist the Cellar lead in tank cleaning and sanitization

* Assist in preparing tanks to receive WIP or Brite Beer

* Learn and follow cellar best practices

* Assist with transfers and preparing WIP Beer for packaging

Requirements:

* Ability to handle, extensive walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, lifting (up to 50 lbs), twisting, climbing, reaching. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, climb flights of stairs, work from elevated areas, and wear hearing and eye protection when required by the job.
* This is an indoor job, however it can get hot and cold. Individuals need to be able to tolerate summer/winter temperature conditions and Hot and Cold room environments
* Must be available to support shift, weekend and holiday schedules as required

Education and experience:

* Must be knowledgeable and proficient working with PCR equipment, microscopes and biological plating techniques.

* Must be organized, clean and articulate in communicating test results

* Must be able to work independently without direct supervision
* Four year degree is plus, advanced knowledge of chemistry, biology or related lab experience
* 1-3 years general work experience in lab facility preferred
* Microbiology experience strongly preferred
* Experience in QA or QC role in industry or medical best practices
* Brewing knowledge and experience a plus
* Computer literacy of Microsoft programs, Excel, Word, and or other databases mandatory

PACKAGING ASSOCIATE

We are seeking  enthusiastic and hardworking craft beer lovers to join our growing team as a packaging associate.  The primary focus of this position is to assist the packaging lead in all packaging and warehouse related duties.   The ideal candidate is motivated to work hard and learn the operations of the a craft brewery. The position can be repetitive but is ever changing task and needs an individual who is very organized, detailed oriented and able to multi-task.  This role will touch all areas of the inventory and packaging etc. 

The candidate will need to operate safely and have good communication skills. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to be involved in a fast-growing, quality-focused brewing and packaging company with an aggressive expansion plan. Job Description

Packaging Associate (Entry Level Position)

Must be 21+

Reports to: Packaging Manager

Shift: Mon-Friday 8am-5pm

Job Description and Responsibilities:

New to the beer industry? Have an interest in a fast paced, ever growing company? Packaging employees take part in all aspects of bottling, canning, keg cleaning and keg filling, as well as brewery cleaning and upkeep.

  • Operation and upkeep of the Kegging line

  • Position work on the Bottling and Canning lines

  • Packaging preparation work

  • Packaging finished product

  • Organization of packaging material inventory

  • Organizing and stacking of empty kegs

  • Cleaning and organization of packaging and bright beer storage areas

  • Assist in general brewery cleaning and preparation for events

The ideal candidate would possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong preference given to candidates with prior brewery, manufacturing or high volume production job based experience.

  • Highly organized individual who will take pride in maintaining a clean, well-functioning environment.

  • Ability to follow strict sanitary practices, as well as CIP protocols.

  • Ability to complete repetitive movements and frequently and repeatedly lift 35 lbs, and capable of regularly moving 150 lbs as well as stand for multiple hours on end.

  • Commitment to ensuring safe completion of complex and potentially dangerous tasks.

  • Ability to learn from others, follow detailed instructions and orders consistently.

  • Forklift certification a plus but not necessary.

  • Ability to work a schedule of (3-5) potentially full 8-hour workdays per week, with the flexibility to occasionally work nights or weekends as needed.

  • A passion for craft beer is a plus!

BARTENDER(S)

Bartender(s)/ Host serve alcoholic beverages based on customer requests. Their duties include verifying the identification and age of customers, preparing and serving alcoholic beverages, accepting payment from customers, balancing cash receipts to record sales, and maintaining a clean and orderly work space.. Sun-Wednesday one person covers the bar and the Package store. The package store sells beer to go. The host will be able to assist customers with buying decisions and will check them out at the cash register.
