Shades Brewing Donates Barrels for Community Art Project

As a local craft brewery, Shades Brewing is always looking for ways to give back to our community and make a positive impact. That's why we were happy to donate a metal barrel to Canvas4acause to support their efforts in helping the non-profit organization "Promise" create an exciting and meaningful art project for at-risk kids from underserved communities.

The kids had a vision of creating an outdoor library in the shape of a pirate ship, and Canvas4acause secured our metal barrel, which is typically used to deliver fruit for our award-winning sour beers, to be repurposed for the project. Sugar Post Metal Works generously donated their welding and design expertise to help bring the kids' ideas to life. The kids also played an important role in the project, coming up with the initial ideas and designs for the pirate ship library.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, the pirate ship library was successfully installed at the Columbus center, and it is now available for all to enjoy. The library is stocked with free books, making it a valuable resource for the community. We are proud to have been able to support Canvas4acause and "Promise" in this project, and we hope that it will inspire other organizations to work together to make a positive impact in their communities.
